Ruth Amstein is a Board Member of Zurich Heart House and a Trustee of London Heart House, both non-for-profit foundations to foster cardiovascular research and promote sci-entific and clinical education for cardiology professionals. She joined Zurich Heart House in 1998 as the Director of Education and was promoted to the CEO in 2009 until 2024. A graduate in biomedical sciences at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zur-ich with a PhD thesis on the pathophysiological processes in the cardiovascular system, Ruth Amstein worked for a renowned pharmaceutical company in a series of high profile roles before moving to the European Centre of Pharmaceutical Medicine (ECPM) at the University of Basel, where she co-founded the European Course in Pharmaceutical Medi-cine and still acts as a Board member. During her career at Zurich Heart House Ruth Am-stein focused on building a reputation for a highly acclaimed academic education center in cardiology including the Postgraduate Course in Heart Failure (PCHF) and the Cardiology Update courses under the auspices of the ESC.
