The 2024 Research Prize of the Swiss Society of Cardiology goes to Dr. Florian Wenzl for his outstanding original research on ‘Personalised Treatment of Acute Coronary Syndromes’ and in recognition of his exemplary dedication and evolving contributions to cardiology.

Dr. Wenzl’s research program focuses on precision medicine using real-world patient data from large-scale registries, prospective cohort studies, and deep phenotyping leveraging comprehensive biobanks. Together with his team he  works on the identification of novel biomarkers and therapeutic targets as well as on the development of clinically applicable tools to inform clinical decision making. Recently, he developed an artificial intelligence model available from www.grace-3.com, which helps clinicians with patient selection for invasive treatment and residual cardiovascular risk management.
