Dear colleagues,
We are delighted to announce the third international symposium on Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathies (ARVC) to be held in Rüschlikon, a suburb of the city of Zurich in Switzerland on September 22, 2016.
Five years after the foundation of our Zurich ARVC Program we are pleased to convene on this special occasion about that very important topic. About 3500 Swiss inhabitants are affected by ARVC requiring a life-long follow-up. The disease usually manifests at a very young age with sometimes dramatic consequences but is very often underdiagnosed and underestimated.
Fortunately, in recent years the overall awareness has been increased and tremendous improvements have been achieved. We are very excited to welcome to this symposium a great number of international key opinion leaders and a very distinguished national faculty to share with you cutting edge knowledge and future perspectives on this challenging disease.
The first session is dedicated to the different diagnostic modalities of this very heterogeneous and difficult-to-diagnose disease, followed by a practical session with discussion on tips and tricks about interpreting results, correctly making the diagnosis and initiating the optimal therapy. The afternoon starts with a session on the various parameters of risk stratification and the different treatment options. In the last session ongoing projects of our Zurich ARVC Program will be presented. Thereafter, we will get a historical insight on ARVC – from the early days in the 70s until today. This excursion to the past will be followed by the award ceremony with the announcement and the presentations of the ARVC research prize winners. It is the second time that this ARVC research will be awarded – as a novelty there will be now two prizes: one for basic science and one for clinical science ARVC research.
The main focus of this symposium is to create awareness for and to broaden knowledge on this underestimated disease, to get updated on state-of-the-art practice and the latest insights of research. The symposium is created for a broad range of audience: family physicians, internists, cardiologists, pediatricians, geneticists, imaging specialists but also interested patients and their family members are most welcome.

Cancellation
Cancellations must be notified in writing (by mail, fax or e-mail) to Zurich Heart House. In case of cancellation up to September 1, 2016, deposits will be refunded less 35% for administrative costs. After this date, no refund will be possible.

Travel by car
Take freeway A3 from the center of Zurich in the direction of Chur, exit Thalwil/Rüschlikon, drive 800 meters, take the second exit on the traffic circle entering Eggstrasse in the direction of Kilchberg, Adliswil, Rüschlikon, drive 550 meters and take the first exit of the circle, exiting to the right entering Feldimoosstrasse.
Travel by public transportation
Take the S-Bahn train (S8 or S24) at the Zurich main train station and ride to the Rüschlikon train station. There change to bus 164 and get off at the bus stop «Belvoir».
Travel from the airport
Take the train to Thalwil (S-Bahn train S2 or Intercity) and there change to the hotel bus (available upon prior request) or Change in the Zurich main train station and take the S-Bahn train (S8 or S24) to Rüschlikon. There change to bus 164 and ride directly to the Hotel Belvoir, bus stop «Belvoir».
