Dr Betty Raman is an academic cardiologist and British Heart Foundation Oxford Centre of Research Excellence Transition Intermediate Clinical Research Fellow at the Radcliffe Department of Medicine, University of Oxford. As the chief investigator of the C-MORE study (national COVID-19 MRI follow-up study), Dr Raman has pioneered research into the long-term effects of COVID-19 on cardiovascular and multiple organ health. She is a co-investigator in three other nationally prioritised post-COVID follow up studies including PHOSP-COVID, CONVALESCENCE, EXPLAIN study and is leading a double-blind placebo controlled clinical trial of metabolic modulators in fatigue-dominant Long COVID in the UK. In parallel to these efforts, Dr Raman also researches hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a common inherited cardiac disease, to improve heart failure and sudden death risk stratification and develop novel treatments for patients. |
