Adrenomedullin system dysregulation predicts cardiogenic shock and mortality in acute coronary syndromes
Does the inclusion of markers of the adrenomedullin (ADM) system improve early prediction of cardiogenic shock and mortality in initially stable patients with acute coronary syndromes (ACS)?
ADM-Gly and bio-ADM, but not PAM, were associated with increased risk of in-hospital cardiogenic shock and 1-year mortality in initially stable patients with ACS. Addition to the ORBI risk score improved its performance, with consistent results in external validation.
The ADM system reflects early endothelial dysfunction, inflammation, and vascular leakage in ACS and refines early risk stratification for cardiogenic shock
